Van Baalen embarked on her art career as a self-taught
oil painter
with a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Texas in
Austin. In 1989 she began studies with Texas artists
Gertie Faye and Dick Turner that eventually led to tours
in Austria, Southern France, Paris and Northern Italy.
Van
Baalen is a member of the Art Center of Corpus
Christi, the Corpus Christi Art Guild and several
miniature art society associations including the
Miniature Artists of America. Her paintings are in
collections in Canada, Japan, Mexico and the USA. |
